Welcome to my web! I guess I need to tell you a little
about myself.
I had taken my Novice class test in December of 1979 and after
waiting almost 6 weeks back then for the FCC to process and mail your ticket to
you by snail mail HI HI . I received the call (KB4HQJ) in January of 1980. I
held that call until I moved to Maryland and upgraded to Technician class
in 1982 with the call of (N3FRG). I had that call for many years, Moving back to
the wonderful hills of Virginia I upgraded to General Class at Bluefield,
Va. (taken my 13wpm & 20wpm code) in 1987.
Raising 4 kids and working all the time my Ham Radio
hobby fell very low on the priority list, But still managed to work CW on the
weekends and a field day from time to time. When I finely got around to take my
advanced test I found out that it was no longer a class. In 2000 I upgraded to
Extra class and applied for a vanity call and received the (WK4W)
After 30 + years of Ham Radio I still love CW
and call it my main mode, I use it 100% of the time and stay in the lower
end of 10, 15, 20, and 40 meters running qrp @ 5 watts or less, 15 is my
favorite band.
I have completed my WAS/qrp/cw with a K1 #2289
Elecraft, And have added a New K2 #6989 Elecraft to my QRP lineup.
NEW Addition to the shack as of 6/3/11 K3/100 #5514
Thanks Elecraft for an Excellent Receiver in all of these rigs! All of my CW is done
on the Elecraft's
The wall paper standings:
